Big Big News Indeed!

The Air force 1's absence from the online NikeiD design studio has been a glaring issue with sneakerheads over the past few years. And save for a brief appearance on Christmas day last year, the classic sneaker has been able to be customized at only a handful of locations worldwide. Thankfully though, the Swoosh is bringing back the AF1 to the well deserving and patient masses. Remember this date! Friday, February 18th will mark the sneakers long awaited return to NikeiD. No word has been given as to how long the shoes will be available for but if you want some customizable kicks, you had better get your skates on and move fast; only 350 kicks were released last time. Ouch!

As we're talking about two things that really excite me, firstly customization and secondly, the bona fide phenomenon that is the Air Force One, it's about time that we take a little look at what is achievable with the silhouette of the AF1 as our blank canvass. From the sublime to the ridiculous here are some ideas for anyone that has got their creative game tight enough for the NikeiD studios...

AF1 Anniversary
These are #3 on my list of favorites sneakers even though these should be #1. Hand-crafted, anaconda skin, clean, white on white.
AF1 SB 2008 BET Hip Hop Awards
These were only given to the artists involved to celebrate the 2008 BET Hip Hop awards. Not everyone involved got a pair, because they weren't ready and delivered to the gifting suite until the day of the event.
AF1 one night only (25th anniversary)
Funky!
AF1 Tribute to Brooklyn/Jackie RobinsonJackie Robinson is one of my heroes. I represent Brooklyn thoroughly. This was an ode to Brooklyn, but more of an ode to Jackie Robinson. All of my 1 of 1s were make in the Innovation Kitchen. All of the details are stats from his career, and it has the Brooklyn Dodgers on the side in their original font. On the inside, more facts on JR. Jackie stood for something. He's Black history.

AF1 designed by DJ Clark Kent
AF1 Clark Kent New York City Pack (New York Knicks)Each panel is made of a different material with 45% of it canvass. Its speaking to each New York sport—basketball, football, baseball through each piece of material.
AF1 x Kaws
AF1 Clark Kent New York City Pack (All City)These are all super hard and dumb comfortable. The whole shoe, inside and out is leather. This particular model combines the original elements from the other three in the City Pack.
AF1 Clark Kent Triple Black Pack 2/3I love perforated leather. This one's kinda ill because it's suede on the inside—and lasered! That's crazy. These are hard.
AF1 x Serrato
This is the fruits of Hiroshi's creative work at Nike along with a bag for them to go in. Nike made them for 50 select DJ's. 49 of them got a grey bottom. DJ Clark Kent got the above with a red sole which was an accident/prototype of Hiroshi's.
